Tuesdays, 5.45pm-6.45pm, 18+yrs, £6 per week (£6) or £5 per class per advanced booking for each half term
Ballet is a highly stylised Classical dance form which has its roots in the European Courts of the 16th and 17th Centuries. The movements learnt vary from the slow and sustained to the fast and energetic. The class is suitable for those with prior experience, who wish to work on syllabus material (I.D.T.A examination board), with the opportunity of taking exams.
Classes include barre and centre work that follows the IDTA examination syllabus and participants have the opportunity to take exams. The exercises address and develop: posture, co-ordination, control, balance, weight placement and transference of, a sense of ‘line’, flexibility, spatial awareness, performance skills, dynamics, musical awareness and memory.
Ballet shoes are essential. Comfortable, close fitting clothing that is easy to move in is required.
